Job Description
Overview Performs diverse administrative projects including quality reporting, event planning, and intranet and policy maintenance. Coordinates intake of nursing students. Provides administrative support to Nursing Directors/Nurse Managers and colleagues. Qualifications Education: * High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred. Experience: * Three years secretarial or comparable clerical experience required, five years preferred. One (1) year of business or other related college coursework combined with 1 year of clerical experience may be considered in lieu of three years of clerical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. * Demonstrates ability to work and collaborate as part of a team and take direction from others. * Demonstrates ability to work independently. Responsibilities * Organizes in person and virtual meetings and ensures appropriate meeting set up. Coordinates meeting agendas and takes and distributes meeting minutes as assigned. Assists with check in at large scale nursing events for employees and leaders. * Performs routine office procedures accurately and in a timely manner. Opens incoming mail and routes appropriately. Develops and updates excel spreadsheets, control charts and graphs as assigned. Types correspondence, transcribes manual information, creates forms, reports, grids and graphic projects in a timely manner. * Provides specialized administrative support for the Nursing Outcomes Improvement Facilitators, Wound and Ostomy Nurses and Magnet Coordinator. Completes special projects (i.e. coordination of semiannual nursing division retreats, Nursing Team week, National Certified Nurses Day, Colleague of the Unit). Assists with regularly scheduled studies and reports. Maintains external quality improvement reporting systems. Maintains intranet Nursing page. Maintains policy libraries for Patient Care Services. * Serves as a liaison to Nursing Schools and coordinates nursing student clinical rotations at SMH. Serves as initial contact for academic faculty regarding student experiences. * Maintains strict confidentiality concerning all correspondence and job related activities. * Develops and maintains productive relationships with System Leadership Team, leaders, and employees, to aid in MHS goal and objective accomplishment. * Performs other related work as required or requested.
