A Surveillance Officer is responsible for monitoring and recording the activities of people or organizations in order to detect, deter, and prevent criminal activity. They may be employed by a law enforcement agency or a private security firm. Surveillance Officers use a variety of methods to carry out their duties, including surveillance cameras, binoculars, night vision equipment, radar systems and other electronic devices. They must maintain detailed records of all observations made during their shift and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
