A Social Worker helps people handle everyday life problems. Their role is to assist people who have issues caused by neglect, abuse, domestic violence, mental health and parental substance abuse. Their responsibilities are to assist people in receiving services by telephone and in person, involve people in beneficial activities, gather relevant information and offer information, protect people from social evils, support people and their families, contact and making transfers to other agencies and services, maintain accurate records and reports, participate in training, watch for signs of child abuse, and provide crisis intervention.
