A senior manufacturing engineer leads the design, combination, and improvement of manufacturing systems and related processes to produce quality products efficiently, and economically. They lead the manufacturing process for new product development, implement cost reduction practices, manage suppliers, ensure product and process quality, prepare product and process reports, improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Senior manufacturing engineers also lead the team and work on product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; consulting with equipment vendors.
