Security Engineer Job Description
Overview
Security engineers manage information technology (IT) security systems and prevent cybercrime, cyberattacks, information and data breaches or intrusions. Security engineers are responsible for intrusion detection systems, installing firewalls, screening security, monitoring systems and networks, scanning networks to find vulnerabilities, investigating and researching vulnerabilities, and collaborating with other IT professionals to solve security problems. They also conduct tests, security assessments, and risk analysis, prepare reports and share their findings, and evaluate new security measures.
