Reporter Job Description
Overview
A Reporter communicates updates and analyzes current events and ongoing issues with the primary goal of keeping the public aware. Their role is to create stories and breaking news through different channels such as radio, television, online news sites, printed newspapers, and magazines. Their responsibilities are to collect, verify and analyze newsworthy information, assemble findings into a stable story, write and deliver news stories, publish or broadcast news stories, receive assignments or investigate news leads or tips, contact, interview and research sources, maintain notes and audio recordings, cooperate with other reporters, the chief editor, and producers, and stay up-to-date with t...
