Railroad Conductor Job Description

A railroad conductor is responsible for safely operating a train and ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and cargo. They are also in charge of scheduling stops along the route, managing paperwork related to rail operations, and communicating with other personnel involved in their train's journey. Conductors must have knowledge of railroad rules and regulations, as well as an understanding of railway equipment. They must be able to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors while remaining focused on the task at hand.
