Podiatrist Job Description
Overview
The Podiatrist is a medical specialists who diagnoses and treats injuries and illnesses relating to the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Their role is to examine patient's legs to diagnose diseases, perform foot and ankle surgeries, and treat sport-related foot and leg injuries. Their responsibilitiesare to use various podiatric techniques to treat deformities and ailments, prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses that improve mobility, review patient's medical history, advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices, and order additional medical tests like X-rays, ultrasounds, and bone density tests to form a better diagnosis.
