Nuclear Operator Job Description
Overview
A Nuclear Operator regulates the flow of electricity that is produced from a nuclear power plant. Their role is to maintain the plant's machinery, implement procedures that regulate the start-up or shut-down of the facility, and respond to abnormalities by taking appropriate action. Their responsibilities are analyzing numerous nuclear operator jobs include directing, starting, stopping, adjusting, testing and operating pumps, valves, switchgear, controls and other components of the system, performing routine tests, incidental maintenance, electrical switching and other activities, and collecting, sorting, segregating and packing radiological waste.
