An Industrial Organizational Psychologist advises management concerning personnel, managerial,and marketing policies and practices. Their role is to participate in mediation and dispute resolution, counsel workers about their job and career-related issues, assess employee performance, and write articles on research findings and implications. Their responsibilities are to formulate and implement training programs, facilitate organizational development and change, and develop interview techniques, rating scales, and psychological tests used to assess skills, abilities and interests for employee selection, placement and promotion.
