The Fashion Designer assists with the production of clothing, shoes and accessories.  Their role is to identify trends, select styles, fabrics, colors, prints and trims for a collection, and manage the design process from conception through final styling.  Their responsibilities are conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques, seeking design inspiration, collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, making edits to the line, creating new concepts, ensuring the product agrees with business strategy, creating production sketches for development packages, collaborating with a technical designer to ensure development packages are accurate, reviewing a product for style and fit during the presentation, and presenting the story, mood, color boards and samples to buyers.
