A doctor of chiropractic (DC) is a licensed health professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders through the use of spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitative exercise. The goal of chiropractic care is to reduce pain, improve function, and promote overall health by restoring proper biomechanical balance to the musculoskeletal system. DCs often work with physicians in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. They may also refer patients for further medical testing or other treatments when necessary.
