Claims Adjuster Job Description
Overview

A Claims Adjuster analyzes, investigates and determines the extent of an insurance company's liability concerning personal loss, property loss, injury or damages, and attempts to settle with claimants. Their role is to interview medical specialists, agents, witnesses, police, claimants and other relevant parties to approve or deny payment of claims. Their responsibilities are to calculate benefit payments, examine claim forms and other records to determine insurance coverage, investigate and assess damage to property, review property damage estimates, appraise property values, and review police reports, medical treatment records, and medical bills to determine the extent of liability.
