Chief Nursing Officer Job Description
Overview
A Chief Nursing Officer oversees and coordinates an organization's nursing unit and its daily operations. Their role is to plan, organize and direct the operations of nursing/patient care services. Their responsibilities are to ensure compliance with patient care quality standards, maintain performance improvement activities, assure competency of all nursing personnel, assist in formulating the budget, maintain efficient and effective departmental operations, direct the training and instruction of nursing students, and participate in policy decisions that affect nursing patient care services.
