Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
- Apply primer, topcoat, and clear coat on vehicles to achieve the desired finish.
- Mix and apply paint to vehicles using spray guns and other equipment.
- Ensure color matching and blend the color properly to achieve a seamless look.
- Ensure a high-quality finish by inspecting and polishing painted surfaces.
- Repair any painting defects or imperfections.
- Maintain inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude with customers and coworkers.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an automotive refinish technician is required.
- Proven track record of producing high-quality refinishing work.
- Strong knowledge of different painting methods and techniques.
- Ability to use various tools and equipment used in automotive refinishing.
- Detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent color vision and ability to match colors accurately.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Certified General Motors Training will be required upon employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in automotive refinishing or a related field.
- Experience with various paint types and application techniques.
- Familiarity with computerized color matching systems.
- 2-5 years of automotive painting and refinishing experience.
- ICAR certification preferred.
